Future Eagle Scholars

Eagle Scholars was created and is funded by the Foundation. Each year 30 sixth grade students are chosen to join the Eagle Scholars program with the understanding that they will continue in the program until they graduate from high school.  Participating in the program means that the child will receive academic support, career and college field trips, enrichment and arts opportunities, college readiness training, and personal lifestyle management courses.  In the summer an intensive 5 week program keeps the students engaged academically.  The  Annette Simmons School of Education and Human Development helped the Foundation create this program to keep students in high school and to prepare the students to be successful in college.  Students who successfully complete the Eagle Scholars program are eligible to apply for the Foundation higher education scholarships.

  Summer

EAGLE Scholars University (ESU) applications will be accepted during the registration days. Applications will be accepted according to the year of graduation with seniors having the first registration date, 11th grade the second, 10th grade the third, etc. A make up registration date will be scheduled for anyone who could not attend during the scheduled dates. Students who apply first are more likely to get their choices in classes. EAGLE Scholars will be able to choose their own classes when applying for summer program. Once the program starts, students will be allowed to switch to any ONE class within the first week. After the first week, no other changes may occur.
Field trips permission forms must be filled out by ever student attending a field trip. If a student does not have a field form signed by their parents, they will not be able to attend.
